An anime gacha game. It has time limited events to collect rare waifu and rare husbando. You can dress them up with different limited outfits and hairstyles. Gotta catch em all. Once you have them, you put them into your band and level them up and score big points in rhythm games. Play solo or with people all around the world. Featuring Hatsune Miku and her Vocaloid friends. Songs have two versions, ones sang by real voice actors, or ones sang by vocaloids (for those not in the know, it’s a computer program.)
Enter the menu section. The quality of the interface it has is also not complicated. We can find various navigations easily if we want to organize a team or want to see the store, or visit various places on the map that has been provided so that the menu for training various characters is neatly arranged. Everything we can explore and understand easily.
The initial experience when playing this game is that the animation and music is bright and fun, and easily captures player interest. Though the initial concepts are a bit abstract, the audio and visual aspects of Hatesune Miku: Colorful Stage! are enough to keep players engaged while they get a hang of the concepts in the game. This continues throughout the game. The animation is particularly smooth and visually appealing during the visual novel portion, and the music for the rhythm gameplay is fun and suits the gameplay very well.
In the game there are some live events every few hours, new cards and quests every few weeks. Lots to do to keep you interested. I also like that the music has many different idols covering each other’s songs.
If you love Vocaloids, you’ll love this. Otherwise, you’ll probably skip a lot of it. I skip the story in this game and other music games, Love Live, Bang Dream, etc. Speaking of Bang Dream, this game is just 100% a reskin of Bang Dream…. Nothing is changed… I don’t know if it was sold and modified to have this new story and new characters, but gameplay-wise it’s exactly one million percent exactly the same game… Story is okay, but I’m lazy and in a hurry and don’t have time to read it. You get bonus rewards if you read it, or if you click it and skip it, still get the rewards. Same with every other music game, Love Live, Bang Dream Girls, etc.
It is undeniable that the essence of playing a rhythm game is the gameplay that is its soul. Fortunately, Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE successfully presented a pretty good gameplay in my opinion. First, the game supports 3D graphic quality which is quite smooth and pleasing to the eye. Both, the performance optimization is quite good when played on smartphones with mid-end specifications.
One downside of all of the content packed into this game is that there is a good amount of downloading that needs to happen during gameplay. To experience the visual novel chapters with full voice-over, each one will have a separate download. This is not necessarily a dealbreaker, but a consideration while I was playing, because I was a bit concerned how much space the app might take up if I played through all the chapters. The tradeoff for a content-packed mobile app is naturally more downloaded content, so players should consider this when downloading the app.
